What Are Venues?
Venues in Oche represent real-world locations where darts is played — pubs, clubs, leagues, or even your mate's garage. A venue brings together players, boards, games, and stats in one place.
Venue features include:
- Player check-in via QR code scanning
- Board management — track which boards are in use
- Venue leaderboards — who's top dog at your local
- Kiosk mode — run a dedicated display tablet
- Custom branding — upload your venue's splash screen
For Venue Owners
Setting Up a Venue
- Sign in to your Oche account
- Go to Venues from the main menu
- Tap Create Venue
- Enter your venue details:
- Name — e.g. "The Red Lion"
- Address — helps players find you
Managing Boards
Add your dartboards to track availability:
- Open your venue settings
- Go to Boards
- Add boards with a name and number (e.g. "Board 1", "Board 2")
- Boards have status: AVAILABLE IN USE MAINTENANCE OFFLINE
Uploading a Splash Screen
Give your venue some personality by uploading a custom splash image. This appears on the kiosk display and when players check in.
For Players
Checking In
When you arrive at an Oche-enabled venue:
- Open the Oche app
- Tap Check In (QR icon)
- Scan the venue's QR code (displayed on their kiosk or printed at the bar)
- You're checked in — your games at this venue will be tracked

Check-ins automatically expire after 4 hours. You can also manually check out from the app.
Guest Check-In
Don't have an Oche account? No problem. The venue kiosk can add you as a guest player. Your games will still be tracked for the session, and you can claim them later by creating an account.
Venue Leaderboard
Each venue maintains its own leaderboard showing:
- Top players by average
- Most games played
- Highest checkouts
- Most 180s at the venue
Device Pairing
Venues can pair tablets as dedicated Oche devices. A paired device:
- Stays signed in to the venue permanently
- Can operate in kiosk mode
- Sends a heartbeat to confirm it's online
- Can be assigned to a specific board
How to Pair
- On the tablet, open Oche and go to Kiosk Mode
- Select Pair Device
- Enter the venue's pairing code
- The device is now linked to the venue
