Oche User Guide

General

What does "Oche" mean?

The oche (pronounced "ockey") is the line behind which a darts player stands to throw. It's the starting point for every game — fitting for an app that helps you track your darts journey.

Is Oche free?

Yes. Oche is completely free to use with no ads, no premium tier, and no hidden costs.

What platforms does Oche support?

Currently Android. iOS support is planned for a future release.

Do I need an internet connection?

No. Oche works fully offline. Games are stored locally on your device and sync to the server when you're back online (if you have an account).

Accounts & Data

Do I need an account to use Oche?

No. You can use Oche in guest mode without creating an account. Your games are tracked via a unique device identifier. However, an account lets you sync across devices, appear on venue leaderboards, and join tournaments.

What happens to my games if I lose my phone?

If you have an account, your games are synced to the server and safe. If you were in guest mode, games stored only on the device would be lost — this is one good reason to create an account.

Can I transfer my guest games to an account?

Yes. When you create an account on a device that already has guest games, those games are automatically linked to your new account during sync.

How do I delete my account?

Contact us and we'll remove your account and associated data. Self-service account deletion is coming in a future update.

Scoring

What's a "bust" in X01?

A bust occurs when your score goes below zero, hits exactly 1 (can't finish on a double from 1), or reaches zero without landing on a double (when double-out is enabled). The turn is void and your score reverts to what it was before the visit.

Can I undo a score?

Yes. Tap the undo button during a game to reverse the last recorded turn.

How are averages calculated?

Your 3-dart average is calculated as: total points scored divided by the number of visits (turns). This is the standard calculation used in professional darts.

What's the maximum possible checkout?

170 — achieved with treble 20, treble 20, bullseye (T20, T20, Bull).

Venues & Kiosk

How do I set up my pub for Oche?

Create a venue in the app, set up your boards, and optionally pair a tablet as a kiosk. Print or display the QR code for player check-ins. See the Venues guide for full details.

What tablet do I need for kiosk mode?

Any Android tablet will work. We recommend a 10" tablet for wall-mounted displays. See the Kiosk Mode guide for hardware recommendations.

Do check-ins expire?

Yes, check-ins automatically expire after 4 hours. Players can also manually check out.

Syncing & Connectivity

My games aren't syncing. What should I do?

Try these steps:

  1. Check your internet connection
  2. Go to Settings → Cloud Sync and tap the sync button
  3. Use the "Test Connection" diagnostic to check API connectivity
  4. Make sure you're logged in (guest mode syncs via device ID)

Can I play on multiple devices?

Yes, if you have an account. Sign in on each device and games will sync between them. Note that games played offline will sync when each device reconnects.
